The Big Event is an opportunity for Aggies to say "Thank You" to residents in the communities of Bryan and College Station for the support that they provide throughout so many collegiate careers. Last year over 12,500 students participated in The Big Event and completed over 1,200 jobs in the Bryan and College Station community. This year, our goal is to have even more students participate in the Big Event so that we can display an even bigger thank you to the community.
Participation
We welcome and encourage all Texas A&M students, faculty, and staff to participate in The Big Event. Participation Forms will be available in February of 2010.
There are three ways a student who wishes to participate in The Big Event may sign up.
A student can sign up as...
- An individual
- With a group of friends
- With an organization
Requirements
In order to be a student participant on the day of The Big Event, there are a few requirements that need to be met. The requirements are:
- Be a student or employee of Texas A&M University
- Complete and turn in a Student Participation Form
- At least one member from each group/organization, and all participants signing up individually, must attend one of the informational meetings the week leading to The Big Event.
- Devote at least 4 hours of service on the day of The Big Event
- Maintain a fun, positive attitude and a strong desire to say Thank You
